Justice League Kias at 2012 SEMA: Superhero Cars
General Motors has the Transformes to promote the Camaro, Spark, Corvette and whatever other robot-car we’re forgetting right now. So perhaps Kia is on to something with this one. For this year’s SEMA Show, they collaborated with DC Comics to crate superhero themed car to impress the aftermarket industry.
The buzz hasn’t exactly been off the charts, but we still think the hero Kias are worth a look.
The vehicles in question are five in number, namely the Green Lantern Soul, Batman Optima, Flash Forte Koup, Aquaman Rio and Cyborg Forte.
Our favorite would have to be the Green Lantern Soul. It pulls off the theme beautifully, with a powerful color combination, some amazing lantern wheels and a shot of Hal Jordan wrapped into the tinted windows.
The Flash Forte Koup was built by West Coast Customs. It centers around a snazzy paintjob, red with yellow bolts of lightning, just like the real Flash’s costume. The theme is continued inside, but our favorite part is the bolt in the hood.
Next up, the Aquaman Rio is definitely a strange choice. After all, cars and water have very little in common. But they pulled off the look well, with a fill body kit and a green and orange re-spray. We’re especially fond of the fake bills on the door and the fake scales painted into the car.
The Cyborg Forte was created by RIDES Magazine and features an edgy, intricate look, like it’s been technologically augmented. Cosmetic goodies include the 18-inch Rotiform TMB wheels with red anodized bolts and chrome lip, a huge air scoop for the hood and a silver paint finish.
Lastly, there’s the Batman-themed Optima sedan. If you’re a fan of the Dark Knight, than you’ll love this special black sedan. It’s been fitted with Batman’s favorite weapons in the center armrest and is low to the ground, like a veritable batmobile should be.
